The Christian Fiction we’ve all been waiting for.

Updated: Mar 13, 2023

As much as I agree with the late Leonard Ravenhill’s great quote—“entertainment is the devil's substitute for joy”—I do concurrently acknowledge that entertainment is not corruption in itself, and it may even be employed for great good. If so intentionally crafted, entertainment can glorify our Holy God and edify the souls of men. Entertainment is especially useful in the life of a child; but speaking of children, aren’t we all intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually lacking in maturity in the eyes of God? Therefore, a wondrous, fiction page-turner can be appropriate for anyone of any age. We all have an innate connection to the supernatural, so much so that we are drawn to it. The supernatural, in fiction, has many times appeared as a fantasy—a dangerous genre for any true Christian writer to endeavor in (but we’ll talk about that another time). Most fiction novels or films in the Christian market are realistic fiction, but that can only go so far in its appeal. Many years ago, when I took part in leading a middle-school ministry, I heard the secret conversations, and I saw what really lit their faces . . . it was the entertainment of the world, not the church. Yet, that all can change now, because the fiction stories that our Christian youth have been waiting for and that they’ve been needing are finally here. By the grace and touch of God, the stories I present are the perfect combination of sound doctrine and marvelous captivation. How far will the Word of God spread if The Yaqarian Twins and its connecting stories shake up the secular cinemas and confound the book rankings of the world? How powerful an impact might it be if even non-Christians can’t resist the attraction and enjoyment of these soul-searching stories? And how much of a benefit can these stories be in the lives of our dear Christian youth, who are currently lacking in spirit-led, fantastical fiction that surpasses Hollywood titles in its enthralling storytelling. My beloved family in Christ, by the mercy of God, we may discover these answers together … and become in awe at the love and glory of God.
